An ancient residence surrounded by vineyards and centuries-old olive trees. Simple flavors; as tradition dictates, fruits of a rich and prosperous land. An ideal location to spend a pleasant stay between nature and tradition.

The “La Pizzuta del Principe” company has renewed the centuries-old property of the family; which has owned it since the early 1900s. Today it counts on vineyards, olive groves and other agricultural productions, all certified organic, which cover hills and lands rich in history. At the foot of the Sila and overlooking the Ionian Sea, its vines enjoy mild winters, mild springs and sunny summers.

There are one hundred hectares of living land, devoted to the cultivation of vines for millennia, as evidenced by the numerous archaeological finds that attest to the presence on site of a Roman villa and the famous “Pietra del Tesauro”. This red brick mausoleum of the Roman age rises a few meters from the entrance of the company and is dated to the first half of the second century A.D.

Touched by the waters of the Vìtravo, the estate faces south-east, kissed by the Mediterranean sun, caressed by the brackish Ionian breezes and the cool currents that descend from the Sila mountains.

Visits to the vineyard

From spring to autumn we will be happy to welcome you to taste our wines in the cellar and taste the traditional gastronomic products of Calabria. And from the second half of August guests will be able to participate in the joyful and picturesque harvest in our vineyards and assist in the production of the must that will become the nectar to be offered for tasting after a few months.

In recent years, Pizzuta has devised initiatives aimed at socialization and accessibility, with paths also designed for the handicapped, introducing cultural and artistic experiences, as well as “social agriculture”, to propose a renewed role of agriculture in terms of social aggregation and ethical impact on the territory.

Our farmhouse enjoys a strategic position. Walking only a handful of kilometers you reach the sea and the wonderful city of Crotone. La Pizzuta del Principe organizes suggestive tours to admire the beauty of the area.

Private events

“La Pizzuta” può ospitare fino a 15 persone in camere doppie dotate di ogni confort, con ampi bagni, televisione e impianto di climatizzazione. Per chi vuole godere di ulteriore indipendenza è disponibile una graziosa dependance con sei posti letto, sala con caminetto, cucina e servizi.

The property has a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy dining room where you can enjoy the excellent traditional local dishes paired with the wines of the “Pizzuta del Principe” produced from our cellar.

The location is suitable for small private ,cultural events or themed evenings.
